Hi Rhiannon,

Yes, your name is familiar. As someone who was laid off and received a lump sum severance (maximizing taxes) at the same time I was having (non-deductible) SRS, I should have your picture on my wall.

I also thought that LGBT advocacy would be good to go into, but I was afraid of starving to death on that kind of income. What I found instead was a technical job with a health care advocacy organization (cpca.org). It allowed me to continue doing things I know well, although with a much needed shift into more people-oriented activities, while starting to gain experience in advocacy.

Skimmer - anyone not a bubblehead. Someone who sails on a target, not a submarine.

But seriously, thanks for your service in the Coast Guard. Your nation will show its gratitude one day - as it did to the Talahassee Airmen. I hope it doesn't take as long though.

Good Luck in your fight with the IRS. May Justice - or even Sanity - prevail.

Even if you are an ex-skimmer.

Rhiannon,
If this is too personal don't answer but has there been any outcome on the IRS case? Many, many of us are hanging on by our splintered fingernails.
Kindest regards and best wishes,

Madison

Miscellaneous Meanderings

Just some more about me - I am presently writing a novel - really I am! I was challenged to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. Well, it took just a bit longer than 30 days, but it's my novel and I am therefore the boss. So, I gave myself some additional time because - I am the boss and I make the rules. So now I have a very ROUGH draft of a 50,000-word novel that I have posted on WeBook.com. The title is "ree-An-Non's Travels Through the Galaxy" - Subtitle - "My Life As a Root Vegetable". You can read this really strange piece of sh*t at http://www.webook.com/member/reeanNon. But a word of caution before you venture there: I have also posted some poems on this site that are very dark - they deal with very serious issues that some of us in the Trans community have faced.

GLAD's Transgender Rights Project Reception

I gave a brief talk at GLAD’s Transgender Rights Project reception Wednesday evening (22 October). The following is the text of my talk…………………

My name is Rhiannon O’Donnabhain. I’m glad to see everyone here today and happy to have a chance to say a few words about GLAD. I’m especially excited about the Transgender Rights Project, because with GLAD’s help, I am doing something I’m sure we’ve all wanted to do at one time or another—sue the Internal Revenue Service.

Like many of you in this room,… Continue
