I'm not certain if this is the right place to post this, but my company is currently working with me on preparing my coming out to my coworkers. We would like to have a Gender Specialist Consultant that has dealt with corporate transitions and is located in the NYC area. Please respond with any reccomendations.
Good luck, I went thru this too. It was tricky but they had to conform. My advise is to be careful about insurance stuff, that was the hard thing for me. I (F to M) tried to keep Female on my health ins. for as long as I could so I could continue to get care for those parts.
My immeadiate superviser didn't tell HR, so one day a year later I got called in to HR so they could ask me which bathroom I was using? (which was the mens room) it was very embarassing for both of us. Then I had to carefully answer questions about which gender I was? She (in HR) asked several ways and I knew that was illegle. I kept giving her round about answers like I am male but I still have some parts the need tending to from the Drs. She said sounds like you want it both ways, and I said no, but I am both ways. I ended keeping it female untill I was able to get my hystorectomy covered, then I switched it to male. Now I have some meds that aren't covered for my female parts, and I can't afford them. Hope this helps.. Kyle
