Hello everyone. I have been full time for around 3 years. I had my own event planning/concert production company, but thanks to the economy being so dismal I have spent the last year sending out tons and tons of resumes. I have not had one reply to any of my resumes. I had to move back in with my mother and family is very much not supportive and in fact disrespectful about it. I get kicked out 2 weeks ago and still have a hard time finding employment as a woman. I am thinking that in order for me to get any type of employment I may have to change everything back to the male side. I could use any advice and suggestions.
Hi Dayna, I am very sorry for you. What happended to you in the last weeks must have effected you quite heavily.
I must admit that I had similar thoughts earlier this morning when I received a message that the company which had offered me a "trial day" to work (without the 200 $ I would normally get paid for that day) cancelled this "due to my days of availibility" (although we had agreed upon the exact working days a few hours earlier). But then I look at that whole, unfair job-"game" and I want to win. If I changed back to the male side, the others (which unfortunately seem to be a majority) would win. So I'm wondering at which point I might surrender and would let them win, too.
I would really like to encourage you to do what your heart and your stomach is telling you. Because I do not know you and your surrounding/people at all it I find it difficult to give you any kind of other hint. Maybe it is a bit helpful for you that there are many other people around the world with similar or even tougher problems. Do you have some really good female friends living close, maybe lebians? The support of open minded woman might be valuable for you. I wish you good decisions and a strong self-esteem.

I will keep on doing what I can and maybe something will stick. I mean I am not being unreasonable. Just asking for work. I guess its a sign of the times and how bad things really are. I guess the main thing is never give up and keep trying. Something has to come through. Eventually. Thanks for the support. Nice to have that voice out there.
Male, Female, T - in this marketplace, it's tough for everybody. I've been sending out on average at least one resume a day since June 1 and have had 2 interviews .... until the interview no one knows what my status is. So it's not just that we're T ... I work with a T-positive employment group and they say "it isn't you, it isn't us, it's everybody." I have to believe them based on what I've heard from non-Ts and their job search.
